About Alicart Restaurant Group

For over twenty years, The Alicart family of restaurants has been offering an exciting and unique spectrum of dining concepts. The legendary Carmine's Family Style Italian restaurant is just one of our original dining experiences. Located in New York City's Theater District and Upper West Side, the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, and the Atlantis Resort & Casino in the Bahamas, Carmine’s serves exceptional Southern Italian cuisine in abundant proportions designed for sharing. Our other specialty restaurants are Virgil's Real BBQ, Artie's NY Delicatessen, and Gabriela's. Visit the Alicart website.
VIRGIL's Barbeque

Virgil's Real Barbecue

Barbecue has become our way of life at Virgil's, and we proudly offer what we feel are the best of a number of different styles: Memphis Pork Ribs and Chicken, Carolina Pulled Pork, Texas Beef Brisket and Link Sausage, Owensboro Lamb, and Maryland Smoked Ham. Our fine meat products are smoked over a variety of hickory, oak, and fruitwoods in our genuine Southern Pride smokers. Each type of wood imparts its own flavor and unique color ring, from dark mahogany to pale rose. These rings are the sign of real barbecue!
Artie's New York Delicatessen

Artie's Delicatessen

The last project of legendary restaurateur Artie Cutler (of Carmine's, Docks, Ollie's, Virgil's, Gabriela's, Jake's, Columbia Bagels) was to partner with Jeffrey Bank to build a great 1930s New York Jewish delicatessen. To rediscover and recreate the flavors of 1930s home-style Jewish cooking, Jeffrey tried hundreds of heirloom recipes and talked with people who lived through the era.

The research paid off. Artie's Delicatessen, which opened October 1999 as a tribute to Artie, heralds the comeback of a heritage almost lost. Overflowing with hanging salamis, house-cured corned beef, pastrami made from a secret recipe, and other traditional deli meats, it is a nosher's wonderland. And Artie's handmade hot dogs and knishes from the grill are not to be missed. Even with the delicatessen's culinary roots in history, Artie's wine list is contemporary, the service staff is young and knowledgeable, and the music is upbeat and hip. Artie's—a New York-style delicatessen done with true verve.
